Social Media Internship: Cleveland Magazine

Cleveland Magazine is looking for aspiring social media professionals with a knack for web writing. We invite candidates to apply for consideration three times a year for the three academic semesters.

For winter/spring. Deadline is Nov. 15
For summer. Deadline is March 15
For fall. Deadline is July 30

This is an unpaid internship. However, we reimburse transportation costs for parking or bus passes. The internships range from 16 to 28 hours a week. The internship, even though it includes actual operation of the facilities of Cleveland Magazine, is similar to training which would be given in an educational environment.

Responsibilities:

A successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the creation and planning of social media content, monitoring and participating in online forums, covering events on the website and on social media, web writing, fact checking and posting articles to the Cleveland Magazine website. CM interns are highly valued, integrated members of our editorial team. They are entrusted with serious responsibilities and given plenty of opportunity for professional development.

Qualifications:

We’re looking for bright student content creators who understand the vast digital landscape. A qualified candidate has experience building or contributing to social media campaigns for their college newspaper, magazine, blog or extracurricular group and writing experience. An ideal candidate also has a flair for magazine-style web writing and knowledge of Cleveland, as this internship will present numerous writing opportunities. Candidates must live or go to college in the Cleveland area (Akron, Kent, and Oberlin included). Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
